This 8-day motorbike adventure takes you into Vietnam’s far northeast, a borderland of limestone towers, jade rivers and mountain passes that most visitors never reach. With Adrenaline Rush Trail (ART), you’ll ride a full loop from Hanoi through the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, chasing thundering waterfalls, hidden caves and empty ridge-line roads right up to the Chinese border. This is the North beyond the tourist trail, and every kilometer earns it.
We roll out of Hanoi early and leave the traffic behind fast, trading it for farmland and limestone scenery as the road climbs into the Mau Son Mountains near the Chinese border. At 1,541m the air turns sharp and cool. Dao and Nung villages, misty French colonial villa ruins and peach trees that blossom every spring line the way before we drop into Lang Son for the night.
Day two pushes deeper into the border provinces, past the Tham Khach Archaeological Site and into Phia Oac – Phia Den National Park, a wild corner of the Geopark first explored by the French in the early 20th century. It’s a big day in the saddle, and it ends at the legendary Ban Gioc Waterfall, where we settle into a riverfront homestay.
Day three is a ride few operators can offer. This loop runs through a border region that needs pre-arranged approvals from local police and the national border police, which ART secures before you arrive. It links Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda for sweeping viewpoints, the full spectacle of Ban Gioc Waterfall up close, and Nguom Ngao Cave, a limestone system of stalactites and towering chambers.
From late summer into autumn, the falls run at full force.
Day four is all about quiet backroads where tourism simply disappears: limestone ridges, patchwork fields and small villages on the way to Vinh Quy Grass Hill, a wide open hillscape with layered mountain views. Day five follows the provincial roads DT205, DT207 and DT211 through remote karst valleys and farming hamlets to God’s Eye Mountain, famous for the “eye” opening through its rock, and the Pi Pha Viewpoint at Ngoc Con for huge borderland panoramas.
Day six rides north into deeper highlands, over the switchbacks of Khau Coc Cha Pass and on to Bao Lac. You’ll see more locals than tourists out here, and that’s exactly the point. Riders combining with our North Vietnam routes can extend on to Meo Vac from here.
This ride is as much about history and people as it is about the roads.
Each stop on the Cao Bang Loop adds another layer of history, landscape and human connection.
The far northeast eats and drinks on its own terms. Around Mau Son that means Snow Shan tea, local Mau Son wine and mountain peaches; further on, it means long evenings at family-run homestays deep in the countryside.
We close the trip the right way: a final dinner at a Michelin restaurant in Hanoi, celebrating a week of border roads, mountain passes, waterfalls, caves and lake country.
Every night is handpicked to fit the day’s ride: Four Points by Sheraton in Lang Son, Lan’s riverfront homestay as our Ban Gioc base for three nights, Ba Quang Panorama near Vinh Quy Grass Hill, Khuoi Khon Homestay in Bao Lac, the lakeside Ba Be Farmstay, and Mercure Hanoi La Gare for the finish.
With small groups, premium adventure bikes from 750cc to 1300cc (BMW GS, KTM, Honda Africa Twin), a Level 2 difficulty rating and a full support team and vehicle behind you, every detail is handled, leaving you free to focus on what matters most: the ride.
Join ART’s next Cao Bang Loop departure and ride Vietnam’s northern borderland on a machine built for it. Waterfalls, caves, border passes and lake country, all on two wheels.
I had a lot of concerns while preparing for a bike trip to Vietnam with novice female riders. However, after preparing for the 7-day tour with ART and traveling on a long journey together, all my worries disappeared.
1. Highly satisfying service
2. Conduct the program politely
3. Sufficient risk response ability
I have a lot of experience traveling abroad by bike. Korea, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand… From many bike trips, I know what you need and what you don’t. ART is a small company, but it has great value and I think it is a trustworthy company. If you want a luxurious bike tour in Vietnam, we recommend that you go with ART. Fiona, who always created the program with a bright smile. Vu, who led a stable and enjoyable journey on a long journey… This trip will remain in our memories for a long time.
Thank you all ?
High quality big bikes, pretty much the sole service offering a diversity of ADV, touring and scrambler bikes from 650cc to 1,250cc.
Great motorbike tours for those who like to ride non-stop and then chill in the evening either camping with delicious food or at a comfortable accommodation.
Thanks to all the organizer and especially Vu for the excellent moto journey, it will be remembered for a long time!!!
I only really regret that I could not finish moto ride with our super band in the last two days, but good emotions overwhelm me.
Thanks!

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 week trip from the north to south Vietnam. We booked a GS1200 through ART and started our relationship with ART and the absolute star of our holiday – Fiona.
Fiona and TJ were very hepful in the planning of the itinerary and their judgement as to what to miss out and what to visit was 100% spot on. The bike was delivered on time and immaculately prepared to the Metropole in Hanoi and thats where our adventure starated.
Each day we had a google maps itinerary to follow (if we wanted to) and the homestays and farm stays were all well chosen by Fiona and pre booked on our behalf. We missed out a section (2 days riding) from Hanoi south and the bike was collected and then dropped off further south whilst we flew. There was a problem with the luggage rack (it cracked) and Fiona sent a mechanic to our hotel and it was fixed – again hassle free.
We did just over 3,000 km and delivered the bike back to ART in Saigon. ART really understand bikers and riding and what is and is not comfortable/interesting (depending on what you are after) – they are super helpful and just very easy to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a proper bike holiday in Vietnam – they are the best in my view.
Jeremy and Ruth Aitchison.
Adrenalin Rush team was the right choice. Them being recommended by a good friend who rolled with them, made a no brainer for us to choose them. In any case you always doubt Touring with somebody first time, however prep and communique before arrival, having Fiona organising each step towards our Vietnam ride made us relaxed and confident that all is going to be alright – and it really did!
Great selection of bikes, bikes’ good condition, excellently tailored routes with great timing and total support made me prone to do another one and then another one after that. I just hope this will happen soon.
Good job guys, keep it boutique and client focused as you already do.
