Riding Modes
The R1200GS comes with the Dynamic package ie .. 5 riding modes , dual Brembo on the front and one on the rear with the Bosch dual braking system in emergencies. It has the Auto Electronic suspension control (ESA) , ABS + Cornering ABS and the Dynamic Traction Control ( DTC). What this means, unless you’re on Dynamic Pro & Enduro Pro modes, the Computer intervenes in your braking controlling automatically the ESA ( suspension) + ABS + DTC and it even has the ASC- automatic stabilization control to make you upright and come to a stop in the unfortunate event of an emergency brake or braking hard in the corners.
The ESA & DTC adjusts automatically reading numerous sensors such as lean angle , brake pressure , speed , pitch and throttle control and adjusts the dual braking system automatically ( you do not need to use your rear brake ) and braking is with one finger. Brake Heavily onto a turn , it automatically increases damping on the front and traction control and when you accelerate , it increases the damping on the rear + the DTC so you can’t even skid if you wanted to. This is on Road + Dynamic mode.
If you are on Rain mode , all these sensors become super sensitive and computer intervention is a lot more.
Dynamic Pro + Enduro Pro , all these interventions are switched off.
